Welcome to the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Homepage!

The Specialist High Skills Major or SHSM for short is a program that we offer at Clarke to provide students with practical skills, knowledge, and training certifications to support their career journey and post-secondary endeavours.

We offer two SHSM Programs: Health and Wellness and Construction.

Students select a major in their specific sector and complete the following five components:

• Courses & Cooperative Education
• Reach Ahead Experiences
• Experiential Learning & Career Exploring
• Sector Partner Experiences
• Certifications

Successful completion of SHSM is indicated on the student’s Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) by a Red Seal designation.
